Get the grill started: it's barbecue season

It's that time again - when cooking shifts from the kitchen to the backyard barbecue.

Be it succulent chicken, a fine cut of beef or the fresh catch of the day, barbecue has a flavor all its own.

Barbecue grills range from small charcoal models (tiny enough to fit in a shoe box) to elaborate gas-fueled monsters sufficiently large enough to grill a side of beef.

Gas grills are popular because they are easy to use and cleanup is a breeze. A gas grill eliminates the need to manage charcoal. What's more, grilling with gas offers the chef greater temperature control, and once the meal is cooked the flame can be immediately turned off.

While it's true that the storage bottles for grills fueled by liquid propane must be filled occasionally, one 5-gallon tank can last most families a season. Those who barbecue more frequently might consider having a standby tank available.

Dear friends, How should I be able to operate my barbecue grill? It is a charcoal BBQ, what other tools or accessories do I need to buy in order to operate my BBQ more effeciently? Thank you in advance, Rojin
first you need some coal specifically made for BBQing , lighter fluid and a lighter, some allpurpose cleaner, wire brush specifically made for a grill, a grill cover to protect it from the weather, some soap when you wash it.

Is it safe to paint a barbecue grill?

I have a barbecue grill that was recently re-painted by someone. Now thinking about it, I wonder if this is actually safe to do. Will chemicals from the paint affect the food? The inside of the lid was painted also?
It was Rustoleum paint. Label says safe up to 1,000 degrees F.
They make high heat spray paint that is safe to use on the outside of the grill and should last a couple of years. However the inside of the lid should not have been painted.
