My thought exactly. My chest hurts at the thought and I still cry whenever I think of this.

I know. The things I would do to punish these neglectful people would be banned if written here...
This is so sad but I have 1 question.....how did his son get into the fire pit from his fathers chest?..I assume he cannot walk at 7 months old and surely falling from his dads chest onto the ground would've shocked or even hurt him and he would've cried and perhaps woke his father..just a thought.......But I agree with everybody..he is a parent and shouldn't of even touched 1 can let alone 3-6...he should have his whole attention on his child...and why wasn't the pit fenced off so that children could not go near it...you need eyes in the bk of your head with children..and where was the mother...if he felt tipsy or tired he should've stopped drinking or left the child with its mother or somebody well enough to care for the child whilst he sobered up..then this poor child would have a life to live!
Also 3-6 beers and he didn't wake to the screaming of his child in pain from the bruning fire pit? I think he not being honest to the amount of alcohol he consumed! to be THAT out of it to not being able to hear what I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of pain that poor child sufffered, he has got to have had more alcohol than he has stated!
