I found that this bellow worked very well and looked awesome. I think the bigger ones might have more air in them but you really do not need a bigger size

We got a cord of wood this year and started using the fireplace. I remembered that out west, we used a bellows. It was a cheapo but it did a great job...until it started falling apart after about a year. I ordered this just looking for something to blow air. But, I needed to consider looks as my better half would object...it needed to look nice. Ordered this and at first was disappointed that it was smaller than I thought. It wasn't as big as the one out west and I didn't think it would work for us. But, hey...it blows and in the end, that's all that matters. I have to pump more than I did with my old one but its not as if I have to stand in front of the fire for hours pumping. 20 or so good pumps at strategic points in the fire do a great job and I do not have to stick my face in the fire and blow anymore. There are bellows that cost a lot more and are a lot bigger. But price was a key consideration. There is no practical reason to want anything...

Wife loves a dinner fire, no matter what the season. I love the fact I know longer have to put my face in the fire to get it going. Might be smaller than you expect, but gets the job done and targets the air where you need it. Unless you have a truly huge fireplace (ours is 42" x 37") it should be able to get the job done.

Hughes on track for London Olympics

May 12, 2011 | “I mean, it was hard,’’ Clara Hughes is saying, home from Medellin, Colombia, and her time trial and road race victories at the UCI Pan American Cycling Championships. “I have never in my life felt that kind of pain — ever. The race was at 7,000 feet. I’d been racing and training in the United States at that altitude, but in the desert, in the dryness.

“In Colombia, it was this high-altitude jungle. My legs started cramping up because I wasn’t used to the humidity.

“A lot of it was mind over matter but a lot of it was being intelligent with how I expended my energy once I did begin to cramp up.

“When I crossed that finish line, I don’t mind admitting, I was in so much pain. That’s the most effort I’ve used in a long, long time.’’
