Dollar stores can make sense in today's economy
May 19, 2012 | Even a nonshopper can be at the right place at the right time now and again. It's not as easy to patch together a look from disparate items in dollar stores, but it's often much more economical. "I think you can always add flair to your home, outdoors or gathering using places like Target, Michaels, Big Lots and dollar stores," said the Shorewood resident. Owecki shops Michaels for silk flowers and other items such as charger plates when she's having a dinner party. But when I need wine glasses, wrapping paper, party goods, kitchen utensils or storage containers, I'll head to Dollar Tree. Tough economic times call for shopping smarter and maybe a little harder. But with the right attitude, finding what you need can be satisfying for both the bargain and the thrill of the hunt. She uses Target for collection pieces such as boxes that
match with notebooks or for seasonal items. Unlike the mall, the stores aren't bathed in sunlight. The stores are clean and well-lighted, and the staff...

I want to find a picture of a fake fireplace with candles. Does anyone have a website?
May 16, 2007 by LA
I saw a fake fireplace on The Look for Less with LeAnn Rimes' bedroom. It was beautiful, and I would love to create it, but I want to find a picture, if not of that particular one, anyone. I know I can just put the mantle up on the wall, but do I just put candle holders inside or what? Will they stick out? I would love to see a picture of one without the hearth and all. Thanks!
my step mom has one in there living room, it looks like a regular fire place except no chimney. they dont attach to the wall, they are self supporting. the candles sit inside and dont stick out at all. if you really want a picture of it ill get you one tomorrow just send me your email address,gands4ever@yahoo.com
it seems to be a pretty simple thing not to difficult to make yourself.
Looking to buy MIL a gift of a candleabra for the fireplace?
Feb 17, 2007 by chemrose
My MIL birthday is coming up. I am looking to buy my her a candle holder for her fireplace. I need one that will look good in a double sided fireplace. Does anyone have any ideas where to get one? I have one I got a target, but I am unsure if it would look good in her fireplace since it is double sided. Has anyone used 2 that are back to back? I am just brainstorming. She is just hard to buy for and said she wanted one for the new house. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks!
yes, i was going to suggest those from target. since she has a double fireplace, i think two back to back would work great.
