Can I use oven cleaner to clean the glass door in my gas fireplace?

I have two gas fireplaces and the glass is dirty ---- I have tried regular glass cleaner but it leaves a film. Is oven cleaner okay? Other?
It would probably work but I would use the easy off fume free and check the back of the container because I think it is flammable. I use Krud Kutter to clean mine fireplace glass screen. It is non-toxic, fume free, biodegradable and cleans ash and soot very well off of any surface. I discovered it when I had a fire in my home earlier this year. Great stuff because it is cheap and has dilution ratios for almost any job on the back.
