I am looking for a Fireplace vacuum cleaner to take out ashes ?

Could anyone tell me where to find one in Britain or a website locally but not in America
You can use any vac if it has a HEPA filter (thats what its called here in the colonys) the filtration is the key, like the other posted suggested a "shop vac" would work great and at least here in the states there inexpensive and easy to obtain.
Vacuum cold fireplace ashes?
Feb 07, 4052 by Fellina
Summer is here and I still haven't cleaned our fireplace since the last time we lit a fire, some 2 months ago. I've managed to pick out the chuncky pieces. Can I vacuum the ashes without ruining our vacuum cleaner. We have the kind that you can also fill with water for washing carpets. Will the regular filter keep the motor safe?
I wouldn't do it, but it of course is up to you. My sister did that, and her vacuum started smoking....and not from hot ashes. My vacuum was fairly expensive and I just would not chance it. I found that taking the ashes out with a metal dustpan and placing them into a metal bucket is fairly fast. I use my fireplace day and night in the cold months....large house in Texas. Good luck.
