May 19, 2012 | The Dorset Square Hotel was where it all began for Firmdale husband and wife team Tim and Kit Kemp. They’ve embarked upon an extensive refurbishment so it’s currently being stamped good and proper with Kit Kemp’s signature style – all those bold colours and textures for which she is known – and being filled with bespoke and one-off pieces and... The Kemps reacquired the Dorset Square Hotel last year and have since been showing it a little love. There will also feature a sumptuous guest drawing room with a fireplace and a fun all-day bar and restaurant. The property itself, due to reopen in June of this year, is a beautiful Regency townhouse with 38 bedrooms, many of which look onto the leafy private garden square which was originally the site of Thomas Lord’s first cricket ground. Each bedroom is being individually designed tol feature WiFi, flat widescreen TVs and iPod docks while bathrooms are of marble and oak, have freestanding showers and luxurious Miller Harris bath products.
