Apr 15, 2008 by Jamie

What do you think about putting a plasma screen tv above a fireplace on the wall?
Jul 03, 2007 by Ben H
I was thinking about putting my plasma screen tv above my fireplace. It is a wood burning fireplace and it is a drywall that separates it from the chimney. Will there be a problem with heat ruining the tv?
Yes, most likely there will be a problem. Plasma TV generates a lot of heat and needs a cool place to operate. If you make such an installation refer to a professional TV installer and someone who can tell you how much heat is in the wall around the chimney. It would most likely void your TV's warranty to make such an installation.
