I've looked at many fireplace doors that cost as much as three to four times more than these but were not the quality of the Pleasant Hearth. They arrived very well packaged against damage and had instructions that were easy to follow and understand. From unpacking to finish it took about 2 or 3 hours of unhurried work to put everything together without anyone needed to help. Fit and finish of the fireplace doors were excellent. The beveled glass of the bay window style doors give the unit a unique, expensive look. I would not hesitate to recommend this item to anyone interested in glass fireplace doors and screens. I had this screen on my wood burning fireplace for 5 years. It held up perfectly. No pitting or discoloration. It was easy to open and close (opens wide and folding doors do not require much hearth clearance), and stayed securely in place. I had small children and it kept cool to the touch. The bevelled glass was high quality and did not become hazy...absolute clarity and sparkle. It is perfect for traditional decor. Wish I could find same quality for new decor.

These doors are great! The beveled glass is lovely and really adds to the look. The bi-fold glass doors open & close easily and the magnet on both the glass doors and the screen doors are a real plus, so easy to open & close, nice for cleaning. The finish is nice and the color is true. Easy installation, too. Be sure to measure before you buy, so you get the correct size. You can check them out at the box stores, but save yourself some money and buy through Amazon. Delivery is always right on time, usually sooner. A lovely item for not a lot of money

High temp. caulk might not be the answer. "High Temp" caulking is not usually intended for fire use. More likely for heaters or engines... something like that.
A local fireplace store in your area should be able to supply you with a metal-fabric seal that fits between the glass and the metal. (Sorry, I can't remember what it's called.)
Also, whatever you do, don't damage the glass. Most fireplace screens/doors have a special glass called Neo-ceram or Poly-ceram, which is extremely expensive. And I can't express enough how extreme the expense is, but here in Canada you could expect $100 or more for a square foot.
Anyway, sounds like nice project. Good luck!
