How do you work a Lopi wood fireplace insert?
Dec 19, 2007 by Rose
We bought a house with a Lopi insert in the fireplace.... no instructions on how to use it? It is suppose to heat the room, however, only cool air is coming out? Help please.
LOPI! first of all, it's a great product - i installed one for my father 2 years ago. i love those stoves.
If you have never used a wood stove insert before, I would get it checked out by a quality chimney sweeper to make sure all is well with the unit and your chimney. and have everything cleaned.
Lopi stoves usually have 2 levers: one to regulate how much air is let into the stove (more air = faster hotter burn), and a second to regulate how much air is let up the chimney (smoke gets trapped in the stove making it heat up more, making the stove more efficient)
here is a document for a lopi stove...

Can a fireplace insert or hearth stove be installed in a manufactured home? I've heard yes and I've heard no.

I've been told we could use an insert, but then someone told me an insert would get too hot in a manufactured home. I am looking to buy a brand new manufactured home but want to put an insert or hearth stove in the fireplace.
You could out in a zero clearance fireplace, but that's for a regular home. I work in the industry and one of the guy's just told me that they make fireplaces specifically for manufactured homes. Check out the link.
