City to celebrate Coleman park

May 19, 2011 |

Lebanon will be transported back in time 150 years on Saturday, when the Coleman Memorial Park trustees present a parade to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the city obtaining the 100-acre park from the Coleman and Brock families.

Before the land became the city's, it was called Mt. Lebanon and was home to G. Dawson Coleman, the iron and steel baron who, along with Horace Brock, built the North Lebanon Furnace that once occupied land just to the south of the park. The Brock family also owned mansions at the property before they joined the Coleman family in deeding them to the city in 1936 after family members moved away or died.

Saturday's parade will be a re-enactment of the community's greeting to Coleman upon his return to Lebanon from one of his frequent trips out of town, according to park trustee and historian Irv Siegel.

The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. at the former Philadelphia and Reading Railroad station at North Eighth Street and the railroad tracks, where Read more »

coleman furnace?

Jan 30, 2007 by gwskh2
Furnace runs, shuts off and comes right back on. Replaced the thermostat & that didn't help. Gas bill is going to be bad this month. Any ideas? gary
we have had the same problem. i talked to coleman to see if it was one of the models that was recalled and it wasnt. they said several things could cause it. assuming it's a gas furnace, the upper limit switch could be switching it off because the firebox was getting too hot before it completeed it's heating cycle, once it cools it starts up again. the ducting could be insufficient to allow the hot air to move out at a rate that will allow enough heat flow resulting in the upper limit switch tripping.
the thermostat could be in a location that warms quickly then shuts off snf cools just as quick- they reccomend moving the thermostat. also if its on a exterior wall it is cooling down too fast. they also reccomend making sure the filters were clean and too not use the super efficient filters because they impede the inlet airflow.
our problem was when they installed the furnace, the installer dropped the furnace down and collapsed part of the ducting underneath restriciting airflow and causing a heat buildup. it's better now - somewhat, and i have a thermometer that lets me see if the room is getting to temperature before it shuts off.

if you have a digital thermostat, are the batteries good and the low end models dont seem to work very well

hope it helps

How can I adjust the pilot light flame higher on my Coleman furnace?

How can I adjust the pilot light flame higher on my Coleman furnace, Model 7680, Series 859, S/N 3719217?
On many gas control valves for both furnaces and water heaters, wall heaters, etc, the large, usually silver colored flat headed screw that Captain Jack is referring to is located in a place where you can remove it. Underneath that is a smaller screw which is not to be removed, but simply adjusted either up or down, (count the turns, both full and partial so you can return it to the original position if needed). You should have the pilot lit when adjusting to see the increase or decrease of flame. I've done this on many gas valves, and never, never ever have I found a pressure regulator on a gas valve.
