Cumberland County coalition merges business, environmental concerns
May 22, 2012 | “There are a lot of great groups and individuals working, but there wasn’t countywide — one overarching type of effort to kind of keep all the right hands and all the left hands in concert with one another,” Rovegno said. With public and private dollars harder to come by, Rovegno said it’s more important that groups with the common bond of preserving the environment share ideas and resources, work together to become more
efficient, and when possible, speak with one... The effort is volunteer-driven, and there are no plans to seek any government funding, Rovegno said. , has assembled a new
coalition that is bringing together an array of environmental and business groups that have been long active in the county on their own. The fledgling group has met twice, most recently in Carlisle to craft a mission statement and calls itself the Cumberland Conservation Collaborative. But it won’t happen by accident, he said.

Why does the furnace in our shop not light?
Dec 19, 2006 by Lestat de L
When we light it we go through all of the steps that we're supposed to, but the flame only gets up to a certain point and blows itself out. We know how to light it and we're not doing something wrong. We think that it's a piece of debris somewhere in the furnace tunnel, but we can't get to that. If you could either tell us how to get to the tunnel, or if there is something else we can try I would greatly appreciate it.
There are a couple of details missing from your question like, is this a "standing pilot? (instead of electronic ignition) and after you light it does the main burner come on or does the pilot go out before the main burner comes on? I am going to assume you are dealing with a standing pilot and the pilot goes out before the main burner comes on. First If the pilot goes out before the main burner comes on you may have a bad "flame sensor" if the sensor is bad the pilot keeps going out as soon as you release the button. If it truly is being blown out by air then there is a device on the top of your chimney that may be missing or damaged (chimney cap) if this is the case then there is more air traveling down the chimney than the pilot can overcome. Either one of these things is easily fixed by a repair main or a good mechanic. The "flame sensor called a themopyle or thermocouple) can be purchased from Lowe's or Home Depot and so can the chimney caps. Good Luck
looking for a outdoor wood furnace to heat business and shop?
Oct 29, 2006 by baileysusamotors
anyone have any recommendations what to look for or specific brand recommendations and why?
try these guys www.swantak.com they are a heavy equipment dealer that also sells outdoor wood furnaces most people that own heavy equipment as do I have large poorly insulated buildings to store and work on machines so these guys would have suggestions I myself use a wasteoil burner in my shop but wood is definetly a better source of heat and this would be safer because it is outside they are in upstate NY
