Is using gas fireplace cost lots of money ? we just moved to a house we received bill for the heat of $557?

Feb 11, 2009 by little angel
We moved the first week of January, the previous owners told us the highest bill they get for the heat is around $280....But because it was too cold I had to use the gas fire place to warm up the house...I was wondering is using gas fireplace can rise up the bill that high ?
Yes it is definitely making your gas bill higher! Try not using it for a month and you will see a difference.
