This is a great heater! We use it to heat the living area of our RV. The living area is approximately 26' x 10' with normal height ceilings. We've tried a few different compact room heaters, but they were too small to heat the area and also way too noisy. We've had the heater about 4 months now. Since we are staying in cooler climates, we've used it almost every night (overnight).The best features about this heater are:- It's QUIET!!!Really!! We have tried many heaters in our RV and house over the years and they tend to be so noisy. The model we tried before purchasing the Lasko was so noisy we had to crank the tv volume up to hear over it. This Lasko seems to be about as quiet as a fan could be.- It has an automatic thermostat you can set.This model has a high/low and auto setting. The high/low settings are not thermostat controlled. last night i accidently tipped over the electric heater...and now it wont work unless i shake it..then it will only blow out cold air and work for a couple minutes...how do i fix it or do i need to buy a new heater?

sounds dangerous...buy the new economical halogen heater...when they tip over the automatically go out and rectify when put back into position

Halogen heater seem to heat the room up more then the other electric heaters (oil electric heaters), but do they use more electricity?

Most answerers have missed the point, halogen heaters heat by RADIATION, so they make you feel warm quickly,
If you erect a glass wall between you and the heater it will STILL heat you.
The science.......Radient heaters heat people, convector heaters heat air.
The ideal scenario is a combination of each type of heat, I believe that is why a cheery open fire in conjunction with central heating makes such a cheerful room.
