ESC, ETSU and BTES work together for Department of Energy grant

Enhanced Systems Consulting (ESC) has received one of 126 Small Business Innovation Research Grants from the U.S. Department of Energy .

Working in partnership with Bristol Tennessee Essential Services (BTES) and East Tennessee State University, ESC received the award for a proposal to address smart grid energy management and related issues.

ESC President Matthew Bolton explains, “The software will build a local, or micro-grid, management solution for distributors, as well as a large scale utility-wide solution for generators such as the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).”

The partners’ jointly-developed Dynamically Controlled Electric Demand Management System (DCEMS) will be ready to market during 2012. The Phase 1 grant has a maximum value of $150,000 to enable the development of DCEMS software. The group can then apply for a Phase II grant of up to $2 million.

Using the BTES electrical grid and the company’s capability to communicate with each individual home in the area, DCEMS software will monitor and manage key electrical appliances within homes.

I have a Toyotomi Laser 30 heater, and I keep getting the "EE 12" (High limit switch activated) error, even though the fan filter is not on the unit. Any idea what is going on?
I have a Toyotomi stove too. I found this awesome website where all the codes are there and how to fix. I downloaded all the pages and printed them in case the site ever goes down. You should do the same.

Error Code EE12
The Overheat protection switch (high limit switch) is rated at 195°F. It is located on the front top heat
shield. If the high limit switch opens, the fuel pump stops and EE12 error code will be displayed on the
digital indicator.
Causes:
1. Circulation air is blocked on the front or back of heater.
2. High limit switch is faulty (very unusual).

There are those who say annually and those who say "when it breaks". I'm of the school that it should be serviced at least annually. A fire in your home will be much more costly in time and money.
