What is the difference between a dry sauna and a wet sauna?
Mar 02, 2009 by Fergy
i moved to this cool place that has both a wet and dry sauna and i don't know what the difference is besides the heat. i mean like which is for what use? What is the difference of using them?
Dry sauna you don't throw water on the stove. Very lame, as there isn't much variety in the feeling. It feels like getting into a car that has been sitting in the sun for a few hours.
Wet sauna you throw water on the stove. You can throw more water or less water depending on how hot you want it.
Go for the wet sauna.
Is dry/wet sauna good for after working out?
May 22, 9806 by db
I like to sit in a sauna after I work out.
Is there any evidence/research that would indicate if it's good thing to do or not after you worked out (lifted weights)?
My understanding, when you workout you damage your muscle fibers. When you go to warm sauna you get heated up and everything in your body expands thereby causing more micro-damage to happen. Are you cause more harm than good this way or what?
I know the benefits of sauna, however is it good for after working out? When you tear a muscle, you don't go heating it up, you put an icepack on it. So is heating your overworked muscles a good idea?
Should I sit in the ice tub instead?
Actually, there's no bad or good side to it. But this is how I do it.
Since your muscles are already warmed up from the workout, I take a cold shower and it releaves cramps and aches ALOT. If you take a suana that's O.K as well. But it only makes sense to take a how shower before you work out, to get you warmed up.
